The Stay

Check-in is at 3PM via self check-in with a lockbox. Check-out is at 11AM.

Detailed directions and access instructions are sent by email before your arrival. The property is located in Port Rowan, Ontario, approximately 2 hours southwest of Toronto and 1.5 hours south of London.

The cabin is set up for two guests, with a double bed in the loft. A twin pull-out sofa is available for a third guest, best suited for a child or solo traveller. Maximum occupancy is three.

No. This is a backyard guest cabin on a private one-acre property. The main home is on-site and visible, but the backyard and all guest spaces are exclusively yours during your stay.

Yes. WiFi, television, Bluetooth radio, wireless chargers, board games, and cards are available for quiet evenings or rainy weather.

The Cabin

The cabin has a mini fridge, microwave, and Keurig coffee station. There is no full indoor kitchen. Cooking is done outside on the Blackstone griddle.

The full bathroom with shower, toilet, and sink is in a separate heated cabin connected to the main cabin by a lit boardwalk. The sauna is in the same building.

Yes. Both the cabin and the sauna building are heated year-round and air conditioned.

Yes. Towels and linens are provided.

The loft is accessed by an alternating tread staircase and has lower ceilings. It is not recommended for guests with limited mobility or balance concerns.

The Sauna and Pond

It's an electric sauna. Turn the dial, wait for it to heat up, and you're good to go. Please follow all posted guidelines and use responsibly.

Swimming is from the dock only. Pond edges are natural and muddy and not suitable for entry. The rowboat is also available for guest use. All water activities are at your own risk.

Yes. The pond is stocked with bass and bluegill. Fish from the dock or take out the rowboat.

Yes. Please respect all municipal fire bans and check current conditions before lighting. No smoking anywhere on the property. No vaping indoors.

Parking and Pets

Yes. The long driveway has ample parking for multiple vehicles and boat trailers.

Yes. EV charging is available on site. Please reach out before your stay so we can make sure everything is set up for your arrival.

Booking and Policies

100% refund when cancelled 14 or more days before arrival. 50% refund when cancelled 7 or more days before arrival. No refund after that. 50% is due at booking, with the remaining balance due 7 days before arrival.

A pre-authorization of CAD $275 is held on your card at check-in and voided 2 days after departure, provided the property is left in good condition.

Quiet hours begin at 11PM. Please be mindful of the surrounding property after this time.

Fishing, Birding, and Hunting

Lake Erie and Long Point Bay are home to walleye, yellow perch, smallmouth and largemouth bass, northern pike, crappie, bluegill, and rock bass, among others. The pond on the property is stocked with bass and bluegill. Long Point has multiple marinas and fishing charters about 15 minutes away. Always check the current Ontario fishing regulations before heading out.

Collins Harbour Marina in St. Williams is about 3 minutes from the property. Port Rowan Harbour Marina is also nearby. Long Point has multiple launches and marinas about 15 minutes away, along with fishing charters.

Spring migration (April to mid-June) is spectacular, with peak diversity in mid-May when over 100 species can be seen in a single day, including more than 25 warbler species. Fall migration (August to mid-November) features raptor migration and large flocks of Sandhill Cranes. Winter brings Snowy Owls and Rough-legged Hawks. The Long Point Bird Observatory visitor centre is open during spring and fall migration.

Yes. The Long Point Waterfowl Management Unit operates a managed hunt from late September through early January at Long Point Provincial Park. Approximately 40 hunting blinds are available on a first-come-first-served or reservation basis. A valid hunting licence and permits are required. The Area

Long Point Provincial Park beach is about 15 minutes by car. It is a long stretch of soft sandy beach on Lake Erie with picnic areas, comfort stations, and accessible beach mats. The day use area is open daily until 10PM. Swimming areas are not supervised by lifeguards.

W.F. Clover Farm is about 2 minutes from the property on Bay Street. They also carry beer, wine, and spirits.

The LCBO is at 3 Centre Street in Port Rowan, about 2 minutes away. Lily Mart on Townline Street also carries beer and wine.

Several within a few minutes of the property. Twin's Ice Cream is 2 minutes away. The Boat House Restaurant and Country Fork are in Port Rowan. Turkey Point and Long Point also have restaurants and food trucks in season.

Beyond fishing, birding, and the beach, you can kayak on Big Creek or Lake Erie with Long Point Eco Adventures, visit the Long Point Bird Observatory, or explore the trails in the Long Point Biosphere Reserve.
